A Functional and Beautiful Facility

Though conveniently situated at a major crossroads, New Gulph Children's Center is set apart and shielded from noise and traffic.

The school building, located on the grounds of the Radnor Friends Meeting, rests on top of a small hill. The back of the building faces the parking lot and a high stone wall separates it from the street. Its many windows overlook green, landscaped grounds.

Our children in the Infant/Toddler Program share an airy, oversized open classroom, carpeted for crawlers and well stocked with toys and play equipment. Five contiguous classrooms, loaded with tons of books, toys, puzzles, games, crafts, and other objects, inspire our Preschool children to enjoy and explore.

NGCC's state-of-the-art playground offers a wide selection of equipment designed and scaled specifically to challenge children under the age of five. A large deck provides ample room for outdoor play even when the grassy areas are wet.

To ensure a clean, comfortable, and healthy environment, reliable local firms are under contract for thorough daily cleaning and regular lawn care. In addition, the Center undergoes more extensive upkeep and refurbishment several times each year during breaks in the session calendar.

Security – A Top Priority

The safety of our children and staff are, of course, among our most important objectives. Accordingly, New Gulph Children's Center maintains the following:

•  Secured entrances with a centralized security system that restricts unauthorized personnel from entering the facility

•  Fencing around all outdoor areas

•  Staff members trained in key first aid measures

•  Background and reference checks on all staff; Criminal History Record and Child Abuse History Clearance for all staff hired after 1/1/86

•  Safeguard STAR 5-point restraint system, compliant with all Federal safety requirements, used for transporting Preschool children on school buses (during Summer Camp Program)

•  Strict policies and parental designation about person(s) to whom a child may be released

•  A safety plan for emergency procedures

NGCC participates in a community outreach program sponsored by the Radnor Township Police Department. In addition, New Gulph is a regular checkpoint on the Radnor Police daily tour.

Convenient Hours of Operation

New Gulph Children's Center opens at 7:30 AM. Children may be dropped off at the parents' convenience anytime between 7:30 and 8:30 AM and picked up at 1:00 PM or 5:30 PM as elected by the parents at the time of registration. The Center closes at 5:30 PM.

Opportunities to Give Back to New Gulph

While we are sensitive to the financial commitment already being made by parents, fundraising is vital to the success of NGCC. New Gulph is financially sound, and we must constantly be mindful of expenses and provide a strong base to maintain what we have.

In order to make our programs available to as many children and families as possible while maintaining our excellent standards, we have always had a policy of setting tuition no higher than necessary to meet our basic expenses. This means that we operate with a minimal “cushion” to meet unanticipated expenses and large capital improvements.

New Gulph strives to make fundraising as painless as possible for our families. While fundraising is only a small portion of our annual budget, we do require these monies to balance our budget and finance significant and/or unforeseen expenditures. There will be many opportunities for parents to help New Gulph by participating in one or more of our fundraising activities. Details about these functions are communicated throughout the year.

It is crucial to the long-term success of our Center that all families participate at some level. Please contact NGCC Director Nancy Klein to see how you can help.

Contributions to New Gulph Children's Center are tax-deductible.
